Lea House

We couldn’t have picked a better property or more suitable location for our first foray into Sandbach. We had been considering investing in the town for a while…and when Lea House became available at auction, we were delighted to come up with the winning bid.

We applied for planning, in early 2023, to covert from offices to twelve contemporary apartments, and completed the project in early 2024.

The building has been completely transformed! New aluminium windows have given the exterior a more modern look and when matched with high end interiors and efficient heating systems, have resulted in a great overall rental offering.

Project Overview

Changes in building regulations made achieving energy efficiency targets a challenge. Also, ensuring the exterior had a more modern look was key.

Davenport House

We purchased this truly stunning period property at auction – the opportunity to own such an iconic Nantwich building rarely comes around, so when it did we pulled out all of the stops to make it happen.

We had been looking for a site in Nantwich for some time and this one came with the added bonus of approved planning for conversion to 14 high end apartments. The site is also large enough to accommodate amenity areas and 30 parking spaces.

This was a truly exciting project for the company – the refurbishment of the existing building (Phase 1) was completed in early 2019 with the extensions (Phase 2) to follow on later in the year.

Project Overview

The challenge was to replicate the splendour of the exterior of the building with a fitting modern design internally. Also ensuring the new build sections blend with the old (phase 2).

'The Bank'

We had an offer accepted on what was previously the RBS Bank in Nantwich in late 2018…and, due to numerous factors, finally completed the purchase in April 2020!

It was worth the wait – the central location is perfect for the residential element of the scheme (which includes our first ever penthouse suite with balcony) whilst also offering us the opportunity to expand our portfolio into commercial property on the ground floor.

Moreover, achieving planning between exchange and completion ensured we could get started on the project immediately…with the added benefit of also being given permission to extend the building to establish our new Group headquarters…which we moved into mid-2021.

Project Overview

The challenge of our first mixed use project was to fuse the period features of the shop front(s) with the contemporary upper floor accommodation. Oh…and the small matter of operating during a pandemic!

Kean Villa

When we heard that a local solicitor was selling one of their offices, we had to look into buying it. The layout of this beautiful period property lends itself perfectly for converting to residential apartments and planning was achieved (through prior approval) in early 2019.

As the building is in close proximity to the train station, this project also gave us the opportunity to establish ourselves in another area of Crewe. We are delighted to return the property to its original name of ‘Kean Villa’ having been built in the late 19th century for the prominent councillor and alderman, Bartholomew Kean.

Project Overview

As all works were internal, the challenge was to ensure that all seven units benefited from the same efficient layouts.

Link House

We finished renovating this striking historical building in 2016 whilst also giving it a modern facelift. Building on the characteristics of the original property with contemporary interiors, has resulted in a small complex of stylish flats which are situated in a great central location.

In addition to adding eight fantastic apartments to our portfolio, the impact this project has had on the area can’t be overstated. If you have any empty buildings that have fallen into disrepair, please get in touch as we are always looking for the next project.

Project Overview

The challenge was to take a period building that had been empty for a decade, extend it to increase floorspace by 50% and maintain features, whilst ensuring it would offer modern living.

Birch Court

We recently completed our Birch Court scheme in Sydney, Crewe, replacing a dilapidated commercial building with seven contemporary apartments and a two bedroom townhouse. In addition, the latter is powered by a 16 panel solar unit which demonstrates our commitment to incorporate renewable energy sources.

Again, we have added to our portfolio whilst improving the local area markedly. If you have any commercial buildings that no longer serve a purpose, please get in touch.

Project Overview

The old commercial building that had been empty for many years was demolished, paying due attention to the party wall and replaced with a modern L-shaped block of new build apartments.

'Brook Court'

Another auction purchase, we secured the site in 2019 with a view to building out during the summer of 2020….however due to multiple challenges with the planning process this timescale was extended.

After two planning committees, a rescinded approval and more hours than we would care to consider the ‘key to the town’ site (really!), we achieved full planning approval over three years later.

We eventually decided to sell the plot so we could fully concentrate our efforts on repurposing and refurbishing existing buildings.

Project Overview

Challenges in a word…planning! (We could write a book on it after this experience…)

Peacock Apartments

Another auction purchase, this property was previously a shop that had been empty for many years and had certainly seen better days. We received planning approval in the second quarter of 2018 – a rare opportunity to establish such a residential scheme in Willaston, Nantwich.

The project to extend and convert the building was completed in early 2019 and now comprises four apartments with contemporary interiors and off street parking, all in a prime, quiet location.

Project Overview

The unsightly extension to the original building was demolished and replaced with a two floor new build section. Merging old with new and ensuring the shop returned to looking like a residential unit, was the key to the success of the project.

The Wool House

Whilst the Wool Shop was once THE place to go in Crewe for all of your knitting needs, unfortunately the shop had been nothing more than storage space for a number for years due to a fall in demand for their wares.

Centrally located and in an area of strong rental demand, planning approval was achieved relatively easily and the project was completed in early 2018. A great example of a smaller project with quicker turnaround time.

Project Overview

Whilst relatively straightforward to divide the commercial aspect of the building to form two apartments the project turned out to be quite demanding when elevating the overall condition of the property to new build standard.
